Do You Find Expressing Yourself To Get Your Needs Met Hard?

Many people find expressing themselves a challenge.  They don’t want to hurt anyone and they don’t want to be hurt themselves. Usually, what needs to be said is caught up with highly charged emotion and deep seated feelings, which, can prove to be unhelpful.  We have a tendency to wait until a gasket is ready to blow and then purge, venting and expressing in a way that is hurtful to us and the person(s) we are addressing.


Expressing yourself doesn’t require you being angry or building anger to give yourself Dutch courage.  It requires that you are clear about what you want to say, and what outcome you want to experience, bearing in mind that the only person you can control is yourself.  Effective communication starts with you.
