I Didn’t Think My Marriage or Relationship Would’ve Been Like This

“I didn’t think my marriage or my relationship would be like this or turned out like that,” are common phases that I hear, and, I hear them far too often.  Many people enter into an intimate long term, committed relationship expecting to experience, until death do they part, that first, “OMG! Sukie-Sukie now” high.  You know, that all encompassing zing you felt when you locked eyes  and lips on each other that set your pheromones pumping and hormones jumping.   It’s that unnamable thing that attracted you to him/her in the beginning.  Like all things in creation there are ebbs and flows and your relationship, whether married or committed, is not exempt from life’s natural momentum.  The name of this game is whether you can weather the storms and build the type of long term relationship you are wanting.
